A Good Answer Starts with Good Data
Grassfeld Intelligence uses financial information from the Grassfeld app, such as linked bank accounts, transactions, budgets, and savings goals. This allows the feature to provide more targeted answers than a general chatbot.
But AI can only see what is in the app. Is an account missing? Do you pay in cash? Has a transaction been categorized incorrectly? Then the picture may be incomplete.
Suppose Grassfeld Intelligence calculates that you still have €900 of financial room this month. If a €300 bill is not yet visible, an €800 purchase appears more affordable than it really is. That is why you should regularly check your transactions, budgets, and savings goals.
Not Every Question Is Equally Reliable
Factual questions are easier to answer than questions about the future. The question of how much money you have spent on groceries this month can be answered based on recorded transactions.
The question of whether you will have enough money for a holiday in six months contains more uncertainty. The answer depends on future income, unexpected costs, and your savings rate. The wording also makes a difference. “Can I afford this?” is broad. It is better to ask:
Whenever possible, include the amount, the period, and the goal to take into account.
What Financial AI Is Good At
Grassfeld Intelligence is particularly useful for questions about your own financial overview:
- Which spending category is the highest this month?
- Am I spending more on eating and drinking out than last month?
- Am I still on track with my savings goal?
- What does a purchase mean for my monthly budget?
The AI summarizes transactions, budgets, and savings goals and explains what the figures mean. However, you should see the answer as support rather than an instruction. A purchase may fit within your budget, while you personally prefer to keep a larger margin.
When Should You Be Extra Careful?
Be careful with questions that depend on uncertain events, such as an expected salary increase, variable income as a freelancer, or costs that have not yet been confirmed. Tax advice, legal advice, and investment advice require specialist knowledge. Grassfeld Intelligence therefore has clear boundaries regarding the types of advice the feature can provide.
How to Check an Answer
Use four checks when making an important financial decision:
- Is the data correct? Are all relevant accounts, income, and expenses visible?
- Is the period correct? Does the answer relate to this week, this month, or a longer period?
- What has been included? Ask which fixed expenses, budgets, and savings goals have been considered.
- Is anything missing? Think of cash payments, future bills, or plans outside the app.
AI Provides Insight, You Decide
Financial answers from AI can be valuable when the data is accurate and the question is clear. AI can save time, particularly when analyzing expenses, comparing months, and tracking budgets or savings goals.

But no AI automatically knows about every future bill or personal priority. Always check the information, ask follow-up questions, and use your own judgement.
In Grassfeld, you can link bank accounts, check transactions, and set budgets and savings goals. You can then ask Grassfeld Intelligence a specific question about your financial room.
